Privacy Policy

Coherent Consciousness ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Zoe Glen out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect through coherentconsciousness.ca, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What We Collect

When you sign up for the newsletter, we collect your email address. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message. If analytics is active on the site, we also receive general usage data: pages visited, approximate location (city or region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We do not collect payment information, since nothing on the site is sold directly through it yet.

How We Use It

Your email address is used to send the newsletter you signed up for, and nothing else, unless you separately opt into something new. Usage data helps us understand which pages and recipes are actually useful, so we can write more of what helps and less of what doesn't. We do not sell your information to anyone, for any reason.

Who We Share It With

We use a small number of outside services to run this site, and your information passes through them as a normal part of that:

• Kit (formerly ConvertKit) stores your email address and sends the newsletter on our behalf.
• Google Analytics, where active, processes usage data to produce the reports described above.
• Cloudflare hosts the site and handles standard technical logs (like IP addresses) as part of serving pages to your browser.

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data it processes. We choose providers with a genuine commitment to privacy, but we don't control their systems directly.

Cookies

Where analytics is active, it uses cookies or similar technology to distinguish one visitor from another and to remember basic preferences. You can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings at any time; the site will still work, though some usage data may be less accurate.

Your Choices

Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, which works instantly and without needing to ask us. You can also email us at any time to request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed, and delete it once you unsubscribe or ask us to. Usage data from analytics is retained according to that provider's standard settings, typically a rolling window of a year or two.

Children

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
